Etsy Shop Review - Jen's Beads and Things + Giveaway

Shopping Etsy for fabulous and fun handmade items is a favorite pastime of mine. I'm not sure if its because I dream of being a crafty mom blogger (true story!). However, my long list of "Pinterest Fails" is proof that being crafty is not one of my strong suits.

So when I come across Etsy shops that have great items, I get excited. With my birthday, Mother's Day, and an anniversary around the corner, thoughtful handmade items on Etsy are a great way to support small & local businesses who have a unique talent for producing fantastic products.

Entrepreneur Inspiration - Seth Godin's TED Talk

So, Entrepreneur.com recently highlighted some key TED Talks for entrepreneurs. It reminded me of TED Talks as good listening while I am working. I often forget about these great speeches - from inspiration to innovation - there is a TED Talk for almost anyone.

Anyway, in this Entrepreneur.com article, I particularly enjoyed Seth Godin's TED Talk that was filmed in 2003. You've got to love Seth. He is a brilliant mind in the world of modern day marketing. While this was recorded almost a decade ago, the topic is integral for entrepreneurial marketing in the current environment. It's centered around innovating your message to speak to your audience in a new and inventive way that makes consumers STOP and WANT what you have to offer.

At less than 20 minutes, this was the perfect length for my multi-tasking busy work schedule. I could listen while I finished responding to emails and getting ready for my day. It got me thinking...and THAT is at the core of why a TED Talk is worth watching (or in my case...listening to it).

Take a look for yourself. Watch this TED Talk by Seth Godin.

Where do you find inspiration while you are working?

Monday Mantra February 17th

This is your Monday Mantra from My Mom Spark.

"Don't expect everyone to understand your journey especially if they've never walked your path."

Sometimes we all need to be reminded of this. So often we can get caught up in comparing ourselves to others. Whether its our parenting skills or the success of our business, no two paths are exactly alike. So, we shouldn't compare ourselves to others. Stay focused on your own path...your own journey. You are exactly where you are supposed to be, so take time to enjoy it, learn from it, and keep moving forward.

Please share this with your friends, fans, and followers. Then, focus on your journey and what you have to offer.

Monday Mantra February 10th

We are a full 5 weeks into the new year. How are you doing on your New Years resolutions?

This week's Monday Mantra is dedicated to looking beyond ourselves to find greater connections and greater synergies with those beyond our normal every day life. Whether that means connecting with new people or looking beyond everything around you to find a deeper sense of peace with the world around you, take some time to connect.

You never know what you will find beyond your comfort zone. Seek it out and connect with the things that will give you more of what you want out of life.

The Perfect Valentine's Day Gift for Him

CraftBeerClub.com-America’s Best Micro Brew Beers Delivered Monthly - 120x120 bannerSo my husband is a micro-brew beer lover. He has been since I met him. I like to stick to my wine, but in the 9+ years I've known him, we've never thought to join a beer-of-the-month club. The idea hadn't really crossed my mine until I came across Craft Beer Club through my affiliate network for A Bit of Wine

Now that Valentine's day is less than a week away, I really want to get him something he can enjoy. Its a pretty cool concept. Each month a pack of 12 micro-brew beers are delivered. In the 12-bottle box, you get 4 different micro-brewed beer from their featured brewers. That means there are 3 of each brew. And its only $37.95 with free shipping in the continental U.S.

The other aspect of this Craft Beer Club membership that I appreciated was that I could choose to give a set number of months as a gift (and pre-pay for it), or just keep it as an ongoing membership and cancel whenever he gets bored with the deliveries (not like that will be anytime soon). Additionally, I could choose to have deliveries every month or every other month. So, that is cool if you want to spread out 3 shipments over 6 months. Check them out for their latest brew features, beer-friendly recipes, and latest deals on their beer club.

Needless to say, I ordered my Valentine's gift last night and look forward to his reaction when the first shipment arrives. Hopefully it will be here before the 14th (procrastination is one of my bad habits). Plus, I hope he is home the day it is delivered because they won't just leave the beer on your front porch. Someone over 21 must be there to sign for it...otherwise, I will have to track it down. So, a few details on my end that may cause a hitch in a timely delivered Valentine's day, but I'm still excited. I don't think he is expecting it.

Is your man a beer drinker? What pros or cons do you see with getting him a gift from Craft Beer Club?

Until Next Time,

Katie

A Chocolate Treat for Everyone - #TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow Milk Review + $500 Target Giftcard Giveaway

This post is an announcement about the TruMoo's new seasonal Chocolate Marshmallow Milk that's in stores this month only! I can't wait to try it! For this post I used TruMoo's Chocolate Milk which is available year-round.
Chocolate milk in my house is a treat. We always have milk and some sort of chocolate syrup, but rarely do we make chocolate milk. I'm not really sure why...but it's just one of those things that my kiddos don't ask for and unless I have a rare craving, I don't make any for myself. So, when I was asked to do a tasting review of PET's TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow Milk, it made me stop and realize how LONG it had really been since I had a good glass of ice cold chocolate milk. In fact, I may have been pregnant with my youngest (2 1/2 years ago), since I had a tall glass of chocolate milk.

Anyway, I set out to find some TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow Milk at my local Target store. Even though I couldn't find Chocolate Marshmallow, I did pick up a bottle of regular TruMoo Chocolate Milk. The Chocolate Marshmallow is the new February flavor from TruMoo and is only available for the month of February. Its supposed to taste like s'mores in a glass. And...who doesn't love s'mores.

While I couldn't wait to get my hands on a bottle of the new February flavor - Chocolate Marshmallow, my kiddos were even more excited than I was about having chocolate milk. And, I must admit, I was kinda pumped to have a reason to drink chocolate milk (not that I really needed a reason...just a reminder). Even though, I used it as a bribe for eating all their vegetables, my 6 year old and 2 year old were excited to get their glass of ice cold TruMoo Chocolate Milk.  In fact, my oldest (who is exploring her independence in kindergarten) shared a fun fact about TruMoo...she admitted to drinking TruMoo Chocolate Milk every Friday at lunch.

You see, she can only buy cafeteria lunch on Fridays as a reward for good behavior. During her 'big girl lunch buying' she is encouraged to make healthy decision, and ultimately she is allowed to decide what she wants for lunch and snack at school. I don't fret over the menu, and she rarely shares her purchases with me. So, when she admitted to drinking chocolate milk at lunch, that confession came with a quick realization that I may not approve. She was quite surprised when I didn't question her decision process (every kindergartner needs good chocolate milk in their lives every once in awhile).

But, back at the dinner table, the kids were loving their reward for good eating and drinking down their glasses of chocolate milk. And I was happy to discover that TruMoo is fresh white milk sourced from local dairy farmers around the country with cocoa and natural sugar (only enough to make it taste great). TruMoo doesn't use artifical growth hormones and no high fructose corn syrup. And with the new February flavor Chocolate Marshmallow, we can drink it hot or cold!

You can get the February flavor in the dairy section of your favorite grocery store for the entire month of February. So, will you enjoy your TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow hot or cold?

Answer to win a $500 Target giftcard for all the Chocolate Marshmallow you want (The winner will be emailed by 2/27/14.)
